As far as behind the scenes work, there are a variety of skills and positions that are needed in radio and tv. The content has to be conceptualized, written, and recorded or filmed. The technical side of production is a huge part of the industry. Sales and advertising are the primary ways this industry brings in revenue, so those employees play a crucial role in the success of this market as well.
