In the spirit of giving back, and our desire to support local businesses and artists, we are doing an artist spotlight series. We will be showcasing a new artist each day for the next 31 days. Today’s artist is Arian Noveir a French graphic and web designer.
Arian is a graphic and web designer, born in Iran, known for his stencil style and his Paint Splatter Superheroes. He is passionate about video games, music, and movies and likes trying different graphic styles.
Question: How did you get into design?
Arians’s Answer: It all started when I was 7-8 years, thanks to my uncle, a painter, who brought me a pencil in hand and supported me and taught me to draw.
Growing up, I experienced, learned from myself, and finally there is little web designer. But the designer in me never sleep.
Question: Where are you from, where did you go to school?
Arians’s Answer: I was born in Iran, I am a French citizen and I studied in Paris (I never had art classes).
Question: What are your tools of the trade?
Arians’s Answer: Paper and pencil, and some desktop publishing software like: Adobe Photoshop and illustrator.
Question:What websites do you go to for design inspiration?
Arians’s Answer:I do not have a preference, I like to ”lose” my self on the web, there was a time I spent my mornings at Abduzeedo, but it is much better to be open to any kind of inspiration.
Question: What is your favorite movie, band, and artist?
Arians’s Answer: My favorite movie is Kung Pow (do not ask me why), music that soothes me is Metallica and I greatly admire the Dali’s imagination.
Question: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Arians’s Answer: I’d love to see these places we have always shown in the books when we were little: the pyramids, the Great Wall of China …
Question:When you’re not designing, what do you like to do?
Arians’s Answer: I like playing video games, watching series and manga, or go out take pictures.
Question: If you could meet anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
Arians’s Answer: I’d like to meet Stan Lee true (even if I had the honor of being in direct contact with him virtually). Why? I think we all know that right? :D
Question: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in design?
Arians’s Answer: Do not fall into the circle: I copy the style and ideas of other artists, because for them, it works. Make the empty and find your inspiration and graphic style.
